Engineers Insight Newsletter #29
I'm back, baby.
It's taken me a while to get back into the swing of things, but the newsletter is going to be back, weekly.
The past 6 weeks have been a whirlwind. Arthur ended up in hospital with covid, which meant me, and my wife then had it. I tried to do some work and we had a little staycation in the peak district, on the one day it's snowed this year.
I've tried to summarise the events of the last 6 weeks, but I've probably forgot most things. The main takeaway is the newsletter is back and Engineers Insight is taking over. ??
?? A round up of last week's Engineers Insight app posts:
SICK Sensor Intelligence IME Inductive Sensors.
Auer Signal GmbH MT60 Monolithic Signal Towers.
PRF Composite Materials RP750 FR eXpress cure.
Beckhoff Automation UK Ltd C7015 IP65 Industrial PC's.
Apex Dynamics UK MD / MF - Series Precision Planetary Gearboxes.
Siemens Electrical Products GB&I SINAMICS Smart Access Modules.
???"Through the Eye" from Engineers Insight
Episode 5 with Katherine Nowill from KUKA is now live on YouTube, Spotify and Amazon music. Have you watched it yet? 9,600 people have, so far ??.
Episode 5 - ”You've got to learn from your mistakes. I've made plenty of them.”
What have we been up to?
Personally - Trying to get into a routine now I'm a dad. Baby Arthur has managed to sleep 7pm-7am 6 nights in a row this week so we feel amazing.
At EI we've been busy getting our ducks in a row. We've got huge plans this year, to scale our user base, build out a raft of features and align ourselves with UK Manufacturing leaders and associations.
Some exciting events in the past 6 weeks:
I've been on some (potential) customer pitches, including:

As well as meeting with some potential partners:
Honorary mentions to Chris Rooum & Adam Lockley whilst I'm talking about the MTC.
I've also been on podcasts! Not just our own. God, I'm getting famous... ????
Thanks to Maciej Szczotka from Automation Trader for having me on his podcast, talking about UK Manufacturing and why there's a reluctance to automate:
Last week I was invited up to Manchester to join the "Make and Market" Podcast, hosted by Lawrence Chapman at Axon Garside | HubSpot Diamond Partner . We talked a bit about UK Manufacturing and the story behind Engineers Insight. Title of the podcast is "Are traditional product launches dead?" - oooh, controversial ??.
