Week 19 - Collaboration.

It's felt like a long time coming, being in the discussions I've had this week. You hope as a start-up people want to collaborate with you. The reality is sometimes you have to make enough noise and prove your credibility before collaboration 'naturally' occurs.

??? Watch our Podcast

Ok, so after a lot of great feedback, we're making this real. I've got a list as long as my arm of some amazing guests. We just need to squeeze them all in. It's likely we'll arrange a day over the next month to get 5/6 people into a central location to record multiple episodes in one day. I'll just take a few outfit changes and some hair gel ??.

Through the Eye on Spotify!

Episode 1 - "If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change." A huge thank you to our first guest, Sarah Black-Smith from Siemens for giving an honest insight into her career and how she inspires the people around her.

?? New Feature Alert!!

I did say last week V1.34 will have video content on the newsfeed. It turned out videos over 25mb we would incur a charge every time someone viewed them... We quickly changed that.

SO, V1.35 is now available!! Here's a look at the new feature, bringing the Engineers Insight app closer to a social feed but ONLY work related.

What have we been up to?

On Monday I met up with Jason Louth from YASKAWA UK & Ireland to look at how we can support education. Specifically, a college close to their office that is struggling to find staff with PLC knowledge and have a need for products and hands on training.

As you all know, Education is high on my priority list at the minute, it seems the more I delve into it, the more daunting the prospect becomes.

I caught up with the igus UK marketing team - Erin Kemal & Ashleigh Boyce on Tuesday to discuss everything Podcast and look into their app analytics together. Sometimes, it takes an outside perspective to remind yourself you're on the right track. I've been conscious of analytics and making sure we're giving our partners real value.

Straight after I jumped on a call with Andy Wylie from MTC - Manufacturing Technology Centre , to discuss how we can support each other. As well as the training centre and their apprentices. Think there might be a few new features coming off the back of this..

Then in the afternoon I caught back up with Mark Rushton from HARTING Technology Group to look at how we onboard them as a new partner. Just like Beckhoff last week, there's no announcement... YET ??

On Wednesday I had the privilege of meeting Benjamin Bollans and Adam Lockley from MTC - Manufacturing Technology Centre - thanks to Mike Wilson . Really excited about this one. It could be huge for us but importantly support the hundreds of engineers to have access product details and documentation, in one place, as well as supporting their members to reach the eyes of the engineers.

After the meeting I drove over to Machine Building Live , which I have to say was a refreshing change to an exhibition. "It's like speed dating" I was told by one of the exhibitors ??. Not mentioning any names.

We had 20 partners exhibiting at the event, so I was like a headless chicken trying to catch up with everyone in 2 hours. Even caught Stuart Cheyne & Thomas Minshall in the car park! ??

I did manage to meet Marc V. to look at how we could onboard Lenze . Hopefully more info to follow shortly ??. Shout out to Matthew Harris for the intro a while back.

Yesterday I joined a call with Angela Lawlor ?? to look at the potential cross-overs in our businesses and networks to support education through various grants. Might be a LOT more to follow. We're going to put our heads together with Sam Baynham next week to discuss.

Yesterday afternoon I caught up with Adrian Farnham & James Derrick at Camozzi Automation - UK to look at the products they'll be posting shortly, discuss the need for support in education and getting Adrian on a Podcast ??.

And finally, today - I'm writing this newsletter before packing a bag for a weekend away with some friends to celebrate two 30th birthdays.
