Engineering and Industrialization: How did NOSMOKE invent an electric leisure vehicle?

Enabler for innovators and new entrants. ARRK is an established global player in the field of product development, prototyping, industrialisation and manufacturing solutions.
There are cars that make you want to pack sunscreen, reunite with loved ones and?drive along the coast with your hair in the wind. There are cars that?exude freedom and tranquility, without the noisy and polluting effects of everyday life and traffic.?Nosmoke?is one of those cars.?Electric, colorful, simple, but unique. This is the ideal leisure car but how was such a car born?
NOSMOKE a dream that begins in 2012
It all started in 2012, in the spirit of?Luc Jaguelin, with the dream of a vehicle reminiscent of the iconic look of cars from the 1960s while having the technological capabilities of today.?Taking the best that each era has to offer and turning it into a car is Luc Jaguelin's ambition.
However, having a dream is not enough, you need a?vision of the market to succeed in making it a reality.?The genius of Luc Jaguelin also lies in the fact that he was?able to identify an untapped demand since the production of the legendary Méhari was stopped.?Indeed, no one since that period had been able to meet the demand for an excellent vehicle for seaside trips, seaside resorts and walks along the coast.?Thus, the idea was born to?reincarnate the Mehari, incorporating current innovations to meet customer needs, whilst also being respectful of its environmental impact.
The project is also distinguished by the?strategy of calling on specialists?to integrate components, in particular systems related to the electrification of the vehicle: battery, electric motor, wiring, gearbox.?Skilled?French designers?worked on the design of Nosmoke, particularly from the?La Cerizay area in Deux-Sèvres, which is renowned for its talents in electrification.
It is truly thanks to?a team of dedicated enthusiasts?that this project has come to fruition. Driven by?their desire to revive this Made?in France electric vehicle after the misadventures of Heuliez and then Mia, it is with?great determination and talent that this team have succeeded.
The choice is also made?to favor a simple design and an L7E?homologation corresponding to light quadricycles, with a power of less than 15 kWh, a speed of less than 90 km / h and a weight of less than 450 kg in order to make the?project economically?viable.?This choice also corresponds to the use for which the vehicle is intended:?transporting you lightly through sunny regions.
However, there are?still hurdles to be?overcome in order to reach “Treasure Island”?and truly realize this dream of a car:?meeting the challenge of industrialization.

Going from a concept to a production vehicle: the challenge of industrialization
The stage of industrialization of a project is decisive.?It is a real test of its viability and is strategically critical for the future of the vehicle.?However, the difficulties in achieving industrialization are numerous.
To succeed in this transition, it is necessary to find financing, private or institutional investors to raise funds in order to launch the industrialization of the vehicle.?For that, it is necessary to know how to show conviction and perseverance.
For a newcomer to this innovative sector of electric mobility, it is wise to?choose a united design and project management team. The?choice made by Nosmoke to?surround itself with a network of trusted partners?who can provide all the skills required for the smooth running of this multidisciplinary project was one of the keys to their success. The assembly of the Nosmoke is therefore carried out in Cerizay,?and?the chassis is made in the workshops from European steel.?This pooling of skills?in Deux-Sèvres creates?synergy and cohesion beneficial to the success of industrialization.
Success is never a coincidence
If we analyze?what made Nosmoke successful, we can obviously identify the?original brilliant idea which responded to a real untapped demand but also the strategy which made it possible to go beyond the concept through to the industrialization stage.?
Indeed,?having the right partners in innovation and industrialization, able to offer turnkey solutions, from engineering to industrialization, is what really made the difference.?Too many Start-ups make the choice to use a multitude of suppliers, which leads to a dilution of responsibilities, both time-consuming and ill-suited to the world of Start-ups.
Nosmoke must inspire us and push us to avoid these pitfalls to prefer a small, passionate and competent team.?This pleasure car owes its success to the work of visionary entrepreneurs who have wisely surrounded themselves.
