Engineers Ireland calls for more modular homes to be built
A much higher level of modular housing is badly needed to address the housing shortage crisis, according to Engineers Ireland.?The current target of 1,500 modular homes built this year is not adequate the meet the challenges of the housing crisis, its director general Damien Owens said at the annual conference in Dublin.
Life Sciences giant BMS pharma to create 300 jobs
US multinational life sciences giant Bristol Myers Squibb announced a plan to develop a new biopharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Dublin that could create 300 jobs. Construction could start early next year. The new plant could be completed by late 2025 and commissioned in early 2026.

Vertiv, a manufacturing company that makes equipment for data centres is creating about 200 jobs in Derry. The group has operated in Ireland since 2021 when it bought E&I Engineering.
