Engineered for A Bright Future: Caster Concepts' New Engineering Center

Caster Concepts is thrilled to announce our new state-of-the-art engineering center. This amazing new facility is designed to foster innovation, collaboration, and efficiency. The center is strategically located next to our manufacturing operations. This creates a dynamic environment that seamlessly integrates design and production, resulting in faster time-to-market and enhanced product quality.

A Space Built for Brilliance.

Inside Caster Concepts' New Engineering Center

This investment is part of a long-term plan. It complements and builds upon current engineering investments. And we’ve designed our engineering center to be more than just a workspace; it’s a catalyst for collaboration. Senior engineers’ offices are adjacent to all engineering workstations, encouraging open dialogue and idea sharing. Equipped with large-scale displays, the area is a hub for real-time data analysis, quality control assessments, and in-depth design reviews. This setup also reduces the number of design iterations.

Ergonomic workstations with adjustable desks prioritize employee comfort and well-being while enhancing productivity and focus. Upstairs is an open, airy conference room and education space with high-speed internet for additional avenues of participation.

Building on What Matters: Unparalleled Testing and Analysis.

Urethane Tire Failure Prediction Model

Caster Concepts commits to delivering casters that exceed expectations. Our advanced testing laboratory uses cutting-edge technology to ensure optimal performance and durability. Our testing equipment includes:

  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA): As a pioneer in leveraging FEA in the caster industry. We leverage this powerful tool to simulate real-world conditions virtually, identifying potential design weaknesses before they reach production. By optimizing caster performance through digital modeling, we reduce the need for physical prototypes, saving time and resources.
  • Urethane Tire Failure Prediction Model: Our proprietary failure model draws on our 35 years of life cycle data and testing to accurately predict the lifespan of urethane tires, minimizing unexpected failures and enhancing product reliability.
  • Static Load Testers and?Dynamometers: These robust machines subject casters to extreme conditions, replicating real-world usage to identify failure points and gather critical data for design improvements. This?is a critical test for ensuring safety factors are maintained.
  • Ergonomic Testing: We conduct thorough ergonomic evaluations to ensure our casters reduce push force and minimize physical strain during operation. Our mobile testing units allow us to assess customer-specific applications on-site.

A Commitment to Excellence.

Another requirement of Caster Concepts is adhering to stringent safety factors (SF) in our load ratings. This means our casters can withstand 1.5 times the catalog load without compromising functionality, two times the load before component deformation, and 4 times before catastrophic failure.

Engineered for a Bright Future.

Drew “THE MFG” Crowe talking to Caster Concepts Engineer Dean Mabus

Investing in engineering and state-of-the-art facilities will always be a primary purpose at Caster Concepts. We strongly believe that by investing in the engineers we have, we can attract and retain talent in our company while enriching our community. As mentioned in our blog about Drew Crowe , American manufacturing is essential, and it’s why we must connect great opportunities with the people who deserve them.?
