Enghouse Networks at InnoTrans 2024
Enhancing Railway Network Visibility & Communication
Enghouse Networks had the pleasure of attending InnoTrans 2024 in Berlin, the world’s largest trade fair for the railway industry, which focused on automation and sustainable, lower-carbon transport. ?Congratulations to the event organisers, participants, and?Deutsche Bahn, ?for providing and using public transport, enabling attendees to travel to and from the event by rail. This aligned with the event’s themes of reducing our carbon footprints and reducing clogged city roads,?benefiting local Berlin drivers by reducing demand for taxis.
FRMCS (Future Railway Mobile Communication System) was a significant topic of discussion.? In preparation for FRMCS planning and rollout, while improving existing network resilience, the demand for Network Inventory Management, rail telecom, service assurance (umbrella alarm management), and fibre network planning was high on the agenda.
With over 500 globally deployed railway, utility, and telecommunication clients already benefiting from our solutions, InnoTrans was the perfect opportunity for us to connect with key players in the industry. We engaged in discussions about how new approaches to FRMCS, particularly in the area of Operational Support Systems (OSS), are needed to meet the growing complexity of modern rail networks. These conversations showed that successful FRMCS deployment is about more than just technology; it’s about integrating systems that streamline operations and ensure efficient communication across the board.

The railway industry faces significant challenges, from modernising legacy infrastructure to meeting increasing demands for efficiency, automation, and sustainability. Our solutions are designed to help overcome these obstacles, and it was clear from our meetings that collaboration is key. We spent time exploring potential partnerships that will help operators enhance existing network management and smoothly transition to FRMCS while ensuring their operations remain future-proof.
InnoTrans 2024 was exactly where we needed to be, engaging with the right people at the heart of the railway industry's transformation. The event reaffirmed our commitment to supporting operators as they navigate the challenges ahead. Enghouse Networks is here to provide the expertise, technology, and partnerships needed to ensure a successful transition to FRMCS and beyond. We’re excited to continue working with our partners to drive innovation and help shape the future of railway communications.
