Imagine being the solo flight attendant onboard, you are orchestrating a full dinner service for 6 guests on today's flight. From serving appetizers to the main course, and offering a selection of wines and beverages, your hands are full. Amidst this bustling activity, it's essential to strategically pose crucial questions to ensure your guests' satisfaction.
Typically, the common questions you will ask to check meal satisfaction — "Is everything okay with your meal?" "Can I offer you anything else?" followed by: "May I clear your plate?"
Picture this scenario: Imagine a guest not entirely pleased with their Fillet Mignon. Will they feel comfortable expressing dissatisfaction during table clearance? The answer is likely no, as everyone has finished their meal by then. Even if you offer a delightful alternative, the guest may hesitate to dine alone.
Don't assume that being onboard a private jet means guests will express their feelings at any time. Particularly in business settings, guests, especially those of the owner, may refrain from initiating complaints, not wanting to create a disturbance.

So, when is the right time to check guest satisfaction?
As the busy flight attendant onboard solo, delivered the main course to all 6 guests usually marks the halfway point of the meal for the first table. Take a moment to top up wine and beverages for the first table, observe their dining experience and inquire about their meal satisfaction AT THIS STAGE. Halfway through the meal is the strategic timing, it ensures that if a guest desires an alternative option, the alternative choices in the oven are still warm, and the other guests are either halfway through or have just received their meals (the aft tables). This approach minimizes embarrassment for the guest seeking a change and showcases your proactive service.
In corporate aviation, the seasoned flight attendant is the epitome of multitasking. Hands orchestrating a flawless service, while keen eyes and ears remain open to seize every opportunity for hospitality, ensuring the pinnacle of guest satisfaction onboard. Happy flying!
