?? The secret to lasting success in the world of scouting ? The MIND! ???
Today I would like to share with you a valuable piece of advice that I have learnt on my journey as a professional in the world of scouting: the importance of the so-called 'mindset', a factor that must be elevated and not underestimated in all phases of scouting.
But how do I want to talk about it? From 2 perspectives: one directed at observation and another at ourselves.
While we carry out our work of identifying and evaluating any kind of profile, we often focus only on their technical abilities, an aspect that immediately jumps out at us in the very first stages of approaching and advancing an athlete unknown to us. All well and good, but I would like to focus my attention on the mind, and a solid mindset can make the difference between a good player and a true star!
What mental characteristics to look for in athletes? Determination, resilience and the ability to adapt to change are just some of the qualities that can bring out a player's true potential. Always remember that raw talent needs the right mindset to develop to its full potential.
On top of that, scouts must also be prepared to face complex challenges and difficult decisions. We can never allow ourselves to be influenced by prejudices or stereotypes: every player has a different story and deserves an objective evaluation.
As football scouting professionals, we have to continually train ourselves to think strategically and maintain a global perspective that allows us to reach into every nook and cranny of the mind of every potential player that has drawn our attention. This means keeping abreast of new developments in scouting, learning about different football cultures and adapting to the evolutions the scouting industry is undergoing in this historical period. We can certainly point out that the changes that have taken place in this industry over the last decade have been just as impactful as those that took place over the previous 50 years.
Have you ever heard of 'professional mindset'? It is one of the keys to development and growth in your career! Here are some tips on how to cultivate the right mindset for professional success. ??
1?? Keep an open mind: Always be curious and ready to learn new things. This will help you adapt to the rapidly changing world of work and seize new opportunities.

2?? Focus on personal development: Invest time and energy in continuous self-improvement. Attend training courses, read books, listen to podcasts or attend webinars. Remember that education never ends!
3?? Accept challenges: Do not be afraid to take on more responsibility or to take on roles that require different skills. Challenges will make you grow both professionally and personally.
4?? Create a strong network: Interact with people who share your professional interests and cultivate relationships in an authentic way. A strong network can offer you support, mentorship and new job opportunities.
5?? Be resilient: Face obstacles with determination and maintain a positive attitude even in difficult situations. Resilience is what will enable you to overcome adversity and achieve your goals.
Don't forget that a professional mindset requires patience and perseverance. Growth does not come overnight, but with the right mindset you can make great strides towards success.
Finally, remember that scouting never stops. It is a continuous process of learning and personal development. Invest in your training and network, share your experiences with other professionals and be open to new ideas.
If we want to discover the talents of the future, we have to prepare for what is to come and work on your mindset as a 'professional' and the key to excellence.
