Great news coming from NYSHEX, who has closed a 13 million USD Series A funding round and working with - thus far - 4 carriers to go live with digital enforceable contracts. Full details here.
This news comes on the back of the news last week that NYSHEX and CMA CGM had entered into a partnership to offer export shippers from the US Gulf and Southeast enforceable contracts on extra-loaders to Asia, thereby guaranteeing both space and equipment.
It would seem that momentum is building from both carriers and shippers to tackle one of the fundamental problems of the industry.

7 年Mr. Lars Jensen, it is a part of estimation your great book 'Liner Shipping 2025'. Improved visibility through enforceability in shipping contract not only for the liners but also for the shipper. In the end, it should be win-win.

7 年In the past the issue has not been the enforceability of shipping contracts as much as the willingness of parties TO enforce contracts that has been the problem.

7 年Nyshex is likely to work best/better in a somewhat transparent and regulated market like the Transpacific. But also the ASI-EUR & MED trades as well as the larger North-South trades could do with much more stability and transparency. Will Nyshex take on that challenge any time soon ?
