One of my recent projects to reduce our carbon footprint was featured in the 2017 NVC catalogue. The project included the replacement of 400 (plus) double fluorescent fittings (across two sites) with single high output LED, drastically reducing our energy bills and fire risks associated with old fluorescent technology. This application was ideally suited to a textile manufacturing environment where fly tends to rest on the tube of a fluorescent fitting. The result was inspection quality lighting at a reduced operating cost.
Our maintenance costs have also been radically reduced due to the ease of replacing the lamp via a push in connector and peace of mind due to the generous warranty. Installation was straight forward as they simply replaced like for like fittings.
In the past you had to remove the lamps to install/remove a reflector but in the case of LED, you simply loosen the lid screws and slot in the reflectors with the lamp in situe.
Amazing how quickly the lighting industry has changed in such a short space of time in regards to LED technology.
