Natural sunlight to be used on the shop floor of the plant.

The number of electric motors and HP rating optimization can be done by engineering excellence knowledge.

The type of electric motor selection is also a key point for optimization.

Have we noticed idle running of motors on lathe/ drilling/reaming/ broaching/threading/milling machines? Can we provide inter-locking? No working, no idle running.

Have we done the why-why analysis for the frequent burning of motors coils? Do we understand under the loading and overloading of motors? Do we really know the side effects of this act?

During lunchtime on the floor, when metal cutting on the lathe is not going on then why coolant motors are running?

Have we calculated required HP for our coolant tank motors? Do we need 3 motors of 0.5 HP? Have we achieved Ganga flow? Our chips/ swarf Management objective achieved with this flow? Our average tool life increased? Tooling cost reduced? Spindle jam problem eliminated? OEE of that line improved? Tool breakage due to jamming reduced?

How we do the switchboard selection? This much on-off switches needed at these locations? First time right and every time concept implemented on tube light and fans switches by marking on it? Is it not necessary?

Tube light wattage selection as per needs along with numbers of tube lights needed to meet the LUX LEVEL criteria? Excess of everything is bad and less is dangerous.

Loose wiring is our habit? Can we fix it? If tapes are available in the store/ market then why polythene or clothes wrapped on joints? Is it safe? Are we waiting for accidents?

Small -small improvement with simple analysis and adherence of basic discipline can save a good amount of money for your plants and it will reflect in your balance sheet.
