The Energy Game of Life: A Journey Beyond Ego

Life is an energy game. However, we often fail to realize that our minds—acting like sensory headsets—restrict, distort, and reshape energy. These headsets confine our ‘reality’ to perceptions and filtered narratives based on survival, severely limiting the energy flow.
In this world of sensory headsets, it's easy to get caught up in ego, driven by the desire to win, overcome, and be the best.?
This narrative fosters a sense of separation.
Recognizing a Faulty Headset
I was fortunate to learn early on that my headset was a bit ‘different,’ perhaps even faulty. For that, I’m grateful.?
From a young age, I discovered I was dyslexic. This often manifested in doing things backward—reading, writing, even tying my shoes. But in a way, this reversal served me well. At some point, I learned that humans are made in the image of God.?
For me, this translated into the idea that I was made in the image of a dog (God spelled backwards is dog). This mix-up worked better for me, as the portrayal of God as a man never resonated, while dogs have always been soul-savers for me.
?Life as an Energy Game?
Throughout my life, each time I thought I had something figured out, reality would shift, and everything I understood would be upended. This led to the realization that life is an energy game.?
This body is a vessel through which universal energy, the divine, or spirit flows. My role on this planet can either align with:

In ego mode, I get stuck. Even if I find the ‘right’ friends and we all agree, there isn’t much flow; we don’t expand or include others. But in heart/love flow mode, I may just be one vulnerable human, yet I feel connected to everything. That’s where miracles and magic happen.
Life is a Team Sport
As a leader in the community and life, my work is to move beyond the right/wrong, polarized views of my sensory headset and into a broader, more inclusive vision. This requires sharing my wisdom and blending it with others. It’s not always easy; conflict and differences are inevitable, and I can’t always fix things or get my way.?
But in the energy game, it’s not about winning or losing; it’s a completely different experience.
Building Connections Over Results
I choose to play the game of connection, not victory. It’s why CrisMarie and I focus on bridging differences and fostering connections rather than simply achieving great outcomes.?
I don’t just want to win; I want to build communities/teams where everyone can shine, even with a "faulty" headset.
One Choice
At The Haven, I learned tools for living, relating, and connecting—lessons I now share with leaders and teams. Life often comes down to one choice:?

Business and politics can seem complex, but they don’t have to be. When we take a breath and settle into our being-ness, we open to love, hold space rather than trying to control or fix, and find possibility in the unknown. That’s how we change the world—from the inside out.
