Energy Efficiency and Net Zero - Manufacturing

The net-zero challenge is of global importance and the UK manufacturing industry’s role in decarbonisation cannot be overlooked. We generate 60 million cubic tonnes of CO2 per annum, almost 11% of the UK total, so as a collective we need to invest in and promote new technologies to change our course.

Join our expert panel for Talking Industry as they explore ways in which the manufacturing community can play its part in global decarbonization and save money on energy consumption including discussions on:

How the MTC is working hard towards its own sustainability target and aims to reach carbon neutrality by 2023, what steps are involved in achieving this goal and how can these findings help manufactures on their own journey to carbon neutrality and a net zero future.

Exploring a data-driven approach to to net zero lead by Warren Services who have moved early on embracing the transition to net-zero where the most important thing learned is that the decisions must be driven by data. Warren have invested in electric vehicles, onsite solar, biomass heating, Led lighting, energy-efficient plant and machinery and insulation.

The Energy Efficiency Movement a semi-autonomous group of companies, instigated by ABB but operating independently. Making a pledge to work together and agree to find solutions to reduce their carbon emissions. Energy appraisals inspection of motors and drives to look for opportunities where money can be saved and C02 can be reduced

Energy Conservation: Utilising Ultrasound to reflect the true value of Compressed Air Leaks. In average, industrial facilities lose 30% of the generated compressed air into leaks, causing a huge amount of energy waste. Thus, detecting and repairing compressed air leaks is fundamental in any energy conservation program. Ultrasound technology is the most effective way of finding those leaks, also allowing inspectors to generate extensive Leak Survey reports demonstrating how much those leaks cost and how much can be saved by repairing them.
