Energy Drinks Linked to Mental Health Issues
A recent study conducted at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research found that soldiers drinking two or more energy drinks per day were more likely to have mental health issues than those that did not consume energy drinks.
Excessive energy drink consumption was associated with depression, increased aggression, disrupted sleep, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, and alcohol misuse.
Surprisingly, energy drinks were also associated with fatigue.
According to the authors, “This relationship suggests that energy drink use may potentially exacerbate, rather than alleviate, fatigue.”
Instead of ingesting excessive amounts of energy drinks, focus on the following simple steps to super energy.
1.????Move early and move often
2.????Get two to ten minutes of sun first thing in the morning
3.????Hydrate properly for your body type and activity level
4.????Nourish yourself with whole, minimally processed foods
5.????Exercise a minimum of 150 minutes per week
6.????Avoid sitting for more than six hours per day
7.????Take a 15-to-30-minute nap in the early afternoon
8.????Schedule your day in 90-minute sprints of work and 20-minute sprints of rest
9.????View sunlight within 90 minutes of sunset to anchor your circadian clock
