The Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition & Demographic Challenge is launching an aid programme to promote and revitalise Energy Communities, with 20 million euros planned for 79 projects distributed by much of the national territory.
The programme seeks to facilitate the creation of new energy communities of all kinds (citizens, entrepreneurs, industrialists, etc.) with promotion, advice and support, to facilitate their development and extend public knowledge about this cooperative formula for the production and consumption of renewable energy, as well as to promote energy efficiency measures; demand management and sustainable mobility.
More than 200 applications confirm the interest in this type of initiative by groups that are already working to develop collective energy generation and consumption and instruments that serve to enhance them.
