Energy - 5 challenges for 2025 - Brazil

The following list is conceptually simple and even easy to implement. BUT, it depends on initiative, the will to make things happen and, above all, an interest in public affairs, since each one is worth USD billions/year.

These are "conditions" with which our leaders have not shown and do not show the desire to seek what is best for the country and not for their "friends".

1. End of unnecessary subsidies

Selected energy sources no longer need subsidies - which all consumers pay for.

2. Power theft

Act firmly to reduce theft. Anyone who walks through the cities can easily see where they are.

3. Demand response

It is high time to expand the scope of DR programs to make the power offer more competitive

4. Tree pruning

To prevent unplanned outages from "exceeding" the limits established by ANEEL (the regulator). Which has been a recurring occurrence.

5. Adjusting peak times

The current peak times are out of step with reality (national demand curve), resulting in additional costs for all consumers, as they encourage use at times when they shouldn't.
