Understanding the Energetic Capacity of Your Business

Day 1 of 8 - E = Energy

(This 8 day series is specifically designed for coaches/consultants/strategists who are making between $200-300k annual revenue and wish to scale their business without screwing up what is already working or turning to paid ads as the answer.)

The Joyful CEO Success Path graphic will serve as your visual anchor and teaching tool for this content series. The EXPAND Method? is our unique process we use to help our clients expand their already-working-business without burning out or imploding the business.

Yay! Things are working and you’ve built a business you are proud of! You are ready to step more into the CEO Leader role, so you can have a bigger impact with your work.

We are kicking off today with a focus on the E in The EXPAND? Method- Energy. More specifically, Energetic Capacity.

There are three areas you must be aware of when it comes time to scale your business:

1 - The Energetic Capacity of you, The CEO/Visionary

2 - The Energetic Capacity of your Team

3 - The Energetic Capacity of your Business Model

1 - The Energetic Capacity of you, the CEO/Visionary

This area impacts how you can THINK about the opportunities and problems in the brand. You’re needed as the VISIONARY in order to expand, asking important questions such as:

**What new ideas would I like to present to my team for consideration?

**How well are we measuring what’s working in each of the areas on the graphic? And how can we improve one or two things and get 10x (or better) the results?

The mistake often made in this area can be simply stated with a beautiful question: Are you an eagle or a goat?

Eagle CEOs soar above the entire brand, know what is going on within departments/team, but their main focus is on the future vision of the brand–by looking ahead and flying high. Goat CEOs spend lots of time with their head down chomping at the grass and weeds, able to look up once in a while, noticing the goat standing next to them, or the cloud passing by overhead. When you do have a moment to consider the cloud, you often get glimpses of “what this business could look like.” which feels good, but then it’s back to head down.

When Energetic Capacity of You is addressed in a sustainable and future-growth oriented way, you’ll experience THE RELIEF OF TIME, so that you can spend time on the things that are actually going to grow the revenue, grow the team, and grow your time off (more on these later in the series!)

2 - The Energetic Capacity of your Team

This area impacts how fast or slow, how accurate or inaccurate, and how smooth or bumpy changes get implemented. Ever want to just get a “small project” done, yet it ends up taking 2x or 3x the amount of time you thought it would take your team to actually get it started, let alone finished? Yeah, that.

The main mistake in this area is that you haven’t actually given true ownership to your team. You may still be involved in the team meetings, checking in on project completion (asking for updates), or you may still be wearing too many hats in the brand. We will talk more about your team later in this series, but for now, it’s important that you realize your current team has an energetic capacity as well. And, if you are serving as sales, and marketing, and client delivery, (and/and/and), your energy is being dispersed in too many places to actually do what needs to be done to grow - VISIONING (see #1 above).

When Energetic Capacity of Team is addressed in a sustainable and future-growth oriented way, you will experience THE RELIEF OF TEAM, so that each person on the team is operating in their Zone of Joy and things get done on time and flow smoothly to completion (without you being a manager).

3 - The Energetic Capacity of your Business Model

This area impacts the amount of clients you can take at any one time, as well as the results your clients can expect to get based on your “client/program load”. This area is directly tied to the amount of revenue you can bring in at any one time, as well as the time you spend in Visioning/CEO Leading vs client delivery vs managing your team.

The main mistakes in this area are two-fold:

**Thinking that your capacity for client load will be solved by adding a membership or a group program. (That is often not the case).

**Thinking that keeping your business model the same as it is now, but raising your rates will get you where you want to be in terms of revenue. (It will not).

When Energetic Capacity of your Business Model is addressed in a sustainable and future- growth oriented way, you will experience THE RELIEF OF A LEVERAGED MODEL, so that you can take on the number of clients you desire at any given time, they get outstanding results, and you are not at capacity of time, energy, or revenue in your business. The model can not be overlooked here as one of the first things that must be addressed for scaling.

As you look back over Day 1, which area(s) do you have more clarity/awareness around? I’d love to hear from you below!

The Joyful CEO? Program was designed specifically for the CEO Leader who is ready to create a legacy, to build a world-class brand, and lead consciously and sustainably.

We’ve got just 2 spots open in this year-long program. I’ve dropped the URL below if you are ready to expand your business with the support of a mentor who was plateaued at $240k annual revenue for two years, but once I figured this out, we shot up to $550k last year, and are on track to hit 7 figures this year. We have used zero ads in this brand, and my workweek is generally 3-3.5 days a week (4 hours per day). I would love to have a conversation with you if you are interested. Feel free to DM me.

One thing I've been assessing and Day #1 highlighted for me is the need to address and assess the team. Do we even have the right people on the bus?
