Energize Your Sales Team for Success

Do you feel like your sales team could perform better, be more engaged and proactive, make fewer negative assumptions and see more opportunities?

So often leaders I work with come with what they say is a ‘bad results’ – low performance, low energy in the team, problems vs solutions mindset etc. Everyone knows the theory of great sales tactics and motivation schemes, but something doesn’t seem to be working.

Here are some tips how to Energize Your Sales Team:

1.????Identify the root cause

While we see the end result we don’t tend to take time to really understand the root cause. What really drains those people, what influences their energy, gives them stress? Talk to them. Go to the core of what thoughts, beliefs, perspectives make them feel how they do which leads to the actions they choose consciously or unconsciously, which lead to the results you see.

2.????Intuitive listening

How well do we really listen. It is a common habit of listening to respond, in many cases we think we know better or jump into blaming or defensive mode. However, try to listen with more awareness, no judgment, understanding the blocks, beliefs, interpretations, assumptions, fears. That is Intuitive listening. ?

Example:

Subjective Listening ?– Speaker – ‘I am really upset about out lack of profits’. Subjective response: ‘Yeah, I worked hard on this!’

Objective Listening -/- Response: ‘Seems like you’re very disappointed at the new numbers’

Intuitive Listening?-/-‘ Not only don’t the profits reflect your effort, but it seems like you’re feeling very stressed over this and what it may suggest’.

Don’t forget that it is not only about the words, which are only 7% of the message and impact, following with the voice/tone 38% and the body Language/presentation 55%.

So yes, even phone and zoom conversations can be very powerful. Which energy are you picking up in what you heard and saw?

3.????Validate and acknowledge

It’s amazing what difference does it make when someone get validation and acknowledgment on what you are saying. It automatically makes them feel normal, understood, accepted, not judged. Just that shifts the energy from feeling stuck, helpless, doubtful and fearful to regaining the energy and confidence.

4.????Collaborate and Connect

Get involved and involve the team, brainstorm ideas and solutions together. Look for the learnings and opportunities that are always there no matter the situation. Connect to that genius everyone has, their intuition, use other resources. Everyone and everything is connected, and the energies as well.

5.????Celebrate little wins

It is so essential to acknowledge the effort and energy that goes even into small wins, that gives positive energy, confidence, gratitude, compassion, connection and so much more.

6. Team training and coaching

External facilitator and coach can add new energy to the team, team new tips and tricks, create dialogue, look at the dynamics in the team, what functions and what doesn't and create an open communication which could be blocked or limited due to old habits. Natalya Berdikyan Looking forward to the podcast. I love your point on Intuitive Listening. Only 7% communicated is based on the words. The rest is tone and body language. Much of the latter has been lost in Zoom. We need to sharpen those skills.
