The enemy of the best!

Character implies self-discipline which in turn implies the ability to distance oneself from instant gratification. Put bluntly, it is the capacity to refrain from satisfying one’s pressing desires. Or, even more bluntly, it is the courage to say "no" to oneself. How powerful and insightful one feels when one realizes that it is always better to say “no” to today's good in order to ensure tomorrow’s best! Furthermore, how mighty and superior one feels when one realizes that the good has always been and will always be the enemy of the best!
