The Enduring Impact of Education: A Note from a Former Student
In teaching, some of the most rewarding moments arise from the simplest of interactions. Such moments not only highlight the enduring value of educational connections but also the profound impact these relationships can have over time.
Recently, I had the joy of receiving a heartfelt message from a former student whom I'll refer to as "E", from my Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics classes at the Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción (UCSC) en Chile. More than a decade has passed since those lectures, and "E" has since thrived as a Civil Engineer.
In his message, "E" reached out to reconnect and express his appreciation. This kind of feedback is more than just a pleasant surprise; it's a powerful reminder of the lasting bonds formed through education. It's not solely about imparting knowledge but about nurturing relationships that withstand the test of time and continue to inspire.
To "E"and all my former students: your successes are the greatest testament to the value of our work together. Thank you for keeping in touch and for reminding me of the joy and purpose in what I do.
