Endurance – whether on a bike or at the board table – is a worthwhile challenge

Attempting to cycle 100 miles (160 km) across mountainous country through the heart of Surrey will not be done in vain if I manage to raise £1,500+ for the children’s charity, Variety, on 31 July.
It’s a mad and daunting endeavor but the training has already begun and there is no stopping me now (to quote Freddie Mercury).
During the hours I spend pounding the pavement and struggling up never-ending inclines with just the wind, rain and occasion sunshine for company, my mind often turns to business.
It’s amazing how similar physical challenges and business challenges are. We can see an obstacle ahead and either swerve to avoid a clash or speed up the pace to tackle it head on. Whether this be someone stepping out in front of you, an unexpected hurdle or a surprising decline.
All in all, it’s these challenges that make us get back in the race time and time again because they’re worthwhile and there is always something to be gained from them.
However, there are some challenges people face that are unrewarding and generally unfair. Variety’s main aim is to help lighten the load for challenges faced by sick, disabled and disadvantaged children across the UK.
For this reason, I ask you to help me help Variety by donating via https://bit.ly/1Py9Q3E
