Endurance Race Coverage
At 9am on April 8th, 500 (pretty crazy) runners take part in the fifth edition of the prestigious Centurion Running, South Downs Way 50 mile ultra-marathon.
Proudly, this is also our fifth year as the official photography team, for all of Centurion Running ultra events, through-out the race season.
Here is a re-cap of the 2016 event.
It's time to race..
Runners leave the start at Worthing, hitting the National Trail, heading eastbound.
11 miles in, runners are offered snacks and a water refill, at the first of six Aid Stations, crewed by an army of volunteers.
Fun and frolics nearing Jack and Jill windmill, Clayton. (approximately halfway)
Stunning views through-out the race, with 1750m elevation to climb over the 50 mile route.
Neil Kirby crosses the line as first finisher in six hours and 35 minutes, which is a lightening sub-8 minute/mile pace.
Time to reflect.
Not all runners stick to typical race attire.
Race legend Mimi Anderson greets finishers, and presents the coveted finishers' medal.
Beautiful sunset at Eastbourne.
Have a sporting look at the Centurion website below, then dust off your Green Flash, dig out the Camelbak, and find the trail running high. Hope to see you there soon.
