#EndSARS and #Reform Nigeria Police Force

As a young man who has witnessed and seen the horrendous behavior of the Nigerian Police Force, I am in total support of the #EndSarsNow movement.

The disbandment of SARS is only but a scratch in the numerous challenges confronting the Nigerian Police Force. To find a lasting solution to this problem, we must not only EndSARS but also reform the NPF.

The beasty nature of the police you see today is a result of the years of untold hardship they are subjected to. 

These rejected officers of the law live like poor criminals in their barracks. Visit the Police barracks and you will understand what I mean. No human can live in such conditions and be behave normally.

The Police in Nigeria are among the poorest in the world, they struggle to eat two square meals and send their children to schools. The majority of these children are the ones who end up in the police force. It's like a vicious cycle. This same unrealistic conditions will continually create these beastly police men if no reform happens. 

This struggle is not just to #EndSars but for the total reform of the entire police system in Nigeria. To End SARS and not reform the police force will be like the ”mosquito effect”-- treating malaria and leaving the mosquito to feaster. The monstrous beast will continue to re-surface.

I support the call for Executive Order, to permanently disband the SARS unit and to also reform the Nigeria Police force. Part of these reforms should include the dissolution of central policing power from the federal government and to form state police that will be funded and managed by each of the states.
