The Endless Day

A foreign land, a fresh start's gleam,
A babysitting, cleaning dream.
But freedom's song turned into screams,
For in that house, a tyrant schemes.
The clock struck seven, a daily start,
A weary body, a heavy heart.
From dawn's first light to the moonlit dark,
Her endless tasks left their painful mark.
The mops I squeezed, the dishes I stacked,
While tiny hands on playgrounds I tracked.
Night brought no rest, just chores to unpack,
A cruel reflection in the window's crack.
Days turned to weeks, a blurring line,
Sleep a stranger, a distant sign.
The promised freedom, a cruel design,
Aching muscles, a weary mind.
But hope endures, a flickering flame,
Beyond this toil, a whispered name.
For soon I'll break free, escape this game,
And find true rest, not a master's claim.
