Ending Global Hunger

Ending Global Hunger

Dear Everyone,

I hope this message finds you well! I have felt inspired to reach out to my network for help and connections.

In 2015 I started 100 Humanitarians International, an organization that focuses on helping families living below the poverty line of $1.90/day. My focus was sustainable food, clean water, education, and health.

I started with sustainable food, with a goal of finding a scalable and simple solution that could be used anywhere in the world. Miraculously, I found that solution in a Garden Tower made out of shade fabric. It's compact, easy to move, reduces the need for water 30% over in-ground gardening, doesn't require any tools, and feeds a family of five fresh vegetables up to 5 meals each week.

With generous funding from? The USANA Foundation, we have been able to build over 10,000 garden towers with families in 10 communities in Kenya, and The USANA Foundation implemented the program as their sustainable food program as well. The Garden Towers are now in 15 countries around the world.

Brian Paul , President of The USANA Foundation recently said, "This has been the most significant partnership we have ever made, and I am truly grateful for the 100 Humanitarians team, and how they have been so diligent and responsible for solving the food security crisis in Kenya."

The Garden Towers are ground zero in the fight against global hunger. We have seen families thrive mentally, physically, financially, and emotionally, as they learn to grow their own food. They are able to save money, no longer having to purchase vegetables. They are able to sell excess vegetables to earn a small income. They have gone on to purchase chickens to start micro-businesses themselves without loans. We have had reports that it is expanding the economic development of communities, and reducing depression.?

Here's where you come in! We need more funding and donations to expand this to even more families - millions of people can benefit from this. We need connections to people who can provide grants or significant donations of $100,000 or more. $20 provides a garden tower to a family, and we have the infrastructure and teams to handle the growth.?

As an organization, we like to ask the question, "Whom do you know that I should know?" So, I'm asking you! Does anyone come to mind that you could connect me to? If not, no worries. I hope that if anyone does come to mind in the future, or comes across your path, that you will remember me.?

And if you feel compelled to share this article so that we can have a greater reach, we would sure appreciate it!

We CAN solve the hunger crisis sustainably. Thank you so much for reading, and have a wonderful day.?

Sincerely,

Heidi Totten

Adding "learn about garden towers" to my weekly learning. By the time I get there, I want to be able to get right to work.
