Ending a difficult week...

This has been an emotional week for people at Microsoft, Dell, Zoom, Yahoo, and so many more companies.??Colleagues that you worked with for years have disappeared. Or you're the one who has been let go. Both are stressful.
Losing a job is a difficult experience. It is overwhelming.?But it's important to remember that it’s not pollyanna-ish to believe that this is a temporary setback and there ARE new opportunities waiting for you.
Focus on what you can control and find ways to stay positive.?Here are some tips to help you get through this tough time and make the most of the weekend.
- Take care of yourself: focus on self-care and prioritize your physical and mental well-being. Go for a walk.?Exercise, eat healthy, get enough sleep, and take breaks when you need to. Some people love yoga. Be you. Do you.
- Connect with friends and family: Reach out to your loved ones and let them know what's going on. Reach out to your past peers, employers, bosses, and mentors.?LinkedIn is a great tool to find them. They are your tribe and can provide support and potentially a lead to another job.?Do ask your tribe for help.? The worst that happens is they don't respond.
- Focus on the positive: It's easy to get bogged down by negative thoughts and feelings. Yet focus on what's going well in your life. Make a list of things you're grateful for and look for opportunities to be kind to others.
- Plan a fun weekend: Get out of the house and do something fun to take your mind off things. Whether it's going for a hike, trying a new restaurant, or just relaxing with a good book, make the most of this weekend and enjoy yourself.?Work starts again on Monday morning.?
This is an opportunity for growth and certainly change.?You might just find it's the motivation needed to leave your comfort zone and find something different.

Remember that you are resilient and capable of overcoming this obstacle. This is not personal. Take a deep breath, then another. A step, and then the next.
Make the most of this weekend. Work resumes first thing Monday morning.
