Rewriting My Story: From Communities to a 'Global' Stage

As I reflect on the past year and look ahead, one wish stands out: to elevate my speaking and talk show career to new heights. This aspiration builds upon the foundation of my journey as a transformational speaker, educator, and innovator. Through my work, I’ve connected with diverse audiences, sparked meaningful dialogues, and inspired others to embrace creativity and purpose.

For 2025, my new motto is Dream it. Dare it. Do it. It reflects the evolution of my own path—from dreaming big and persevering through networking challenges, to daring greatly and turning those dreams into action. This fresh perspective aligns with my mission to empower others to step boldly into their potential, just as I continue to do.

2024 has been a truly transformative year. In the second half especially, I embraced numerous opportunities to connect with like-minded communities. Some of these groups were free to join, while others required modest fees, yet all exceeded my expectations—offering business-building opportunities, meaningful connections, and lifelong friendships.

I’ve come to understand that a truly great community does more than offer camaraderie. It fosters an environment where members can grow, build their businesses, and access opportunities that spark professional development. Networking in such communities is powerful; it goes beyond surface-level interactions to create dynamic ecosystems of support, collaboration, and endless possibilities. Everyone has the right to join a platform that aligns with their aspirations, and I’ve been fortunate to find communities that open doors and inspire growth.

One of the highlights of my year was hosting a talk show episode titled From Guessing to Clarity: Start 2025 with Scientific Insights to Support Your Child. This special collaboration with Geno Plan empowered parents to understand their child’s behavior, health, and hidden potential using science-backed tools. The episode achieved a 100% conversion rate, underscoring the impact of providing clear, actionable insights to parents. It was a moment of immense pride, as this success validated my ability to inspire and connect deeply with my audience while offering real value.

This year, I actively participated in enriching communities like SG100 Leadership, Leadership Development for Women (LDW), Brand Builder, Public Speaking Unlimited, GTPS, Leadership Nuggets, Speaker Society and Kampung Cakap, as well as collaborations with My Art Space, Preschool Market, TGIF, and iDating, among others. Each has contributed uniquely to my journey, offering invaluable insights and connections. My very first community, GTPS, holds a special place in my heart, as it laid the foundation for everything that followed. What a world out there—it has been nothing short of extraordinary!

I want to make one thing clear: I am not retiring; I am rewriting. At 57, I am boldly stepping into a new chapter—not as someone slowing down, but as someone rewriting her story with energy, purpose, and curiosity to explore the world.

Professional Milestones in 2024

This year marked significant milestones. I co-founded Love@ Human Connection, a consultancy specializing in team-building, fostering human relationships, and dating. Through our signature program, When Art Meets Love, we use art as a bridge to connect people. Whether in corporate teams, friendships, or romantic partnerships, we’re redefining how relationships are built by blending creativity with connection.

As the founder of the Future Thinkers Academy, I have worked tirelessly to inspire creative thinking in education. The Academy empowers students, educators, and parents to use design thinking and innovative strategies to solve problems and explore new possibilities. We are actively seeking collaborations to broaden our impact and continue fostering innovation.

Additionally, my expertise as an educator with over 20 years of experience in STEAM and STEMIE education has enabled me to develop workshops and talks that inspire transformation. This year, I found a stage to share my journey through the Speakers Society, delivering my first public talk, From Dreaming to Doing. In this talk, I shared my wobbly yet rewarding journey into speaking and entrepreneurship, offering insights into how creativity and resilience have shaped my life. It was a moment of validation, affirming the risks I’ve taken and the path I’ve chosen.

Academic Foundation My journey in education began with a passion for fostering creativity and innovation. I hold a degree in education, specializing in early childhood development, which has guided my two decades of experience as a teacher, mentor, and curriculum developer. This background has been instrumental in shaping my focus on STEAM and STEMIE education and driving my commitment to unlocking the creative potential of others.

The journey hasn’t been without challenges. I’ve encountered setbacks and conflicts, but these experiences have clarified my direction and strengthened my resolve. One key lesson I’ve learned is this: when an environment stifles your growth, it’s a cage. But when it nurtures and supports you, it becomes a community.

As I step into 2025 with a renewed vision, my new motto is, Dream it. Dare it. Do it., serves as a powerful reminder to embrace bold aspirations, take courageous steps, and turn dreams into reality. This journey has taught me the transformative power of communities that nurture growth, inspire action, and open doors to endless possibilities.
