An Endeavor by KLH Students Exploring Color Recognition with Arduino

As modern industrial production develops toward high speed and automatic direction, color recognition has been widely used in various industrial detection and automatic control fields. And the work of color identification which is led by the human eye has been replaced by color sensors. Considering the importance P. Surya and P. Sai Vishwajith Reddy, two brilliant second-year B.Tech Computer Science Engineering students from KLH Hyderabad Campus, conducted an exceptional experiment using the advanced TCS3200 Colour Sensor which will help people with color blindness.

This device can detect a wide range of colors based on their unique wavelengths, making it perfect for color recognition projects like color matching, color sorting, test strip reading, and various other applications. Its precision and versatility make it highly suitable for tasks requiring accurate color analysis. Color sensors can be applied in many fields, such as monitoring the production process and product quality in the industry.?

These students skillfully arranged the Arduino and the TCS3200 sensor, meticulously connecting them using jumper wires. Once successfully integrated, the device was all set to perform its color-detecting magic. Moreover, the TCS3200 color sensor holds potential benefits for individuals with color blindness, as a lot of people who are color blind can't get into many jobs?like an artist or a pilot?because of this defect. The students skillfully integrated the sensor with an Arduino board using jumper wires.

By presenting various color sheets to the sensor, the TCS3200 successfully measured the wavelength and frequency of each color, displaying the corresponding color names with great accuracy. With this experiment, they can notice colors in different atmospheric conditions while learning their frequencies in all conditions. As a result, it astutely displays the name of the respective color, leaving no room for ambiguity. Their experiment stands as a testament to the remarkable fusion of technology and innovation, demonstrating the endless possibilities when exploring the fascinating realm of color sensing. Currently, the project is in the prototype stage.
