As we down tools and take a well-earned break, during the holiday season and enjoy some family time and some downtime, its also about taking time out to reflect on the past year.
I joined IBM in November 2018, annoyingly my LinkedIn profile didn’t flag up my change of job so after few weeks I started getting messages of ‘when did you move? Ahh you’re at IBM, Why? When did this happen?....’. Anyway, when I joined I was nervous yet confident that I had made the right decision and everyday since then has been a testimony to that decision. I am as they say an IBMer! These aren’t just words but they stand for something truly remarkable. It’s the people that make it a truly amazing place to work.
Although, I spend most of my time with clients, yet I have never felt more connected with my colleagues. If I ever felt the need to seek guidance on strategy, technology I just had to pick up the phone. Now whether that’s a good thing or bad thing but no one was immune from receiving a phone call from me ??. Everyone who I have come across has been genuinely open and willing to listen, learn and help, for that I am truly grateful. This for an organisation with a 108 year history is truly remarkable.
In the beginning of this year I was asked to Lead the S/4HANA Cloud – Single Tenant Edition (STE) Initiative, a deployment adoption option from SAP which has been revived and re-branded to provide more choice to clients in moving to S/4HANA. It has certainly been a busy year in growing this Centre of Excellence. With Global Webinars, SAP User-Group sessions, IBM and SAP joint Enablement sessions, Developing SME’s, 100’s of hours of CoE meetings and most importantly delivering for our clients. I’m genuinely excited, enthused and looking forward to an even busier 2020. I hope to reveal more on how we are helping our clients in the journey to S/4HANA Cloud but for now, it’s time to kick back and enjoy the festivities.
Season’s Greetings and a Happy New Year!
