End of the Year Burnout: What To Do Now

End of the Year Burnout: What To Do Now

We’re at the tail end of 2023 and you know what? Time doesn’t seem to be slowing down one bit.

I’m hearing from a lot of people, in all different industries, that it’s tough out there right now. Even my clients who have been pretty steady in their burnout recovery are working harder than ever to keep their recovery plans in place right now.

No matter what stage of life you’re in, or what career path you’ve chosen, I want to tell you something:

I see you.

I understand what it feels like to wonder how much longer you can keep doing this. I’ve been in that place before — where I knew something HAD to change.

So let’s chat candidly, shall we? We’ll talk about what that feels like and what we can do about it.

First off, know you’re not alone. There are many people who are in a similar place to where you are. They get up every day and eke out one more day, hoping that eventually something will change.

And they know burnout recovery is possible. But with everything going on in the world and their own lives, it feels insurmountable. A total life overhaul not only seems impossible, but even the THOUGHT of it is exhausting.

But stick with me for a minute. What if you didn’t have to do 847274 things to make an impact on your life? What would it be like if you could make a difference with just one step?

Good news: you CAN.

My THRIV? burnout recovery model has 5 pillars:

  1. Tend to Yourself
  2. Harness social support
  3. Recharge through detachment
  4. Ignite compassion satisfaction
  5. Vow to honor your humanness

I know from vast experience that implementing each one can make a marked difference with burnout in your life.

But you know what? You don’t have to start with all 5. You don’t even have to start with 2 or 3.

Just pick ONE.

Because the first step to burnout recovery is just that — one step.

After you choose the one, you pick one practice this week that addresses that particular pillar and start doing it.

That’s it.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: if burnout management was easy, everyone would do it. Many people don’t because it feels easier to stay in the comfort zone, despite the discomfort it brings. So they just keep on keepin’ on.

But you know what? That doesn’t have to be you. You can let go of that negative, draining experience you’re in and work toward restoring joy in your career and your life.

Just remember something: while you WILL see a change with one step, I don’t want you to stop there. Just like with babies, first steps need to be followed by a second. And the second is followed by a third — and so on.

But that’s why I keep bringing you content to help you navigate burnout — your well-being is that important to me and I want you to keep going. It’s why I curate virtual workshops, micro-offers, and experiences. I want to help you take YOUR next step.

So if you’ve found yourself saying…

“I am so ready to quit.”

“I honestly don’t know how much longer I can do this.”

“I just don’t have it in me to do this for even one more day.”??

Then it’s time, my friend. Each of those statements point to burnout. And burnout doesn’t have to be the end of your story.??

So take that step. Then when you feel like you’re ready to move forward, choose another. I’ll be right there to support you and cheer you on.

And if you want to dive a little deeper into my burnout recovery model, I encourage you to grab one of my micro-offers (starting at $1.97!) to help you get started. It’s a great, tiny gift to yourself as the holiday season approaches.?

Imagine starting a new year without feeling like you’re barely keeping your head above water. Think about what it would feel like to release the stress and overwhelm and experience restored joy in your life and career.

Then let me know how I can help. I’m with you all the way!
