The End of the World is happening more often than we think.
The End of the world is a regular occurrence in business. However, do not worry a new one always starts tomorrow. The key is to make sure you are still alive, the currency results. Timing extremely importsnt, the business clock sets the pace.
In life, we are governed by dates, and typically, in sales, it is EOM (End of Month), EOQ (End of Quarter), YE (Year End). We of course know that no one knows this and as one of the best-kept secrets in businesses remains, protected then we still hold the upper hand.
At home, life is the same, but this time it is on the kids clock, School year by three as all in different Schools, Colleges & Universities, each have different slots for Irish schools during the breaks, or extra tuition. Factor in the notion of holidays and other commitments; life becomes quite a balancing act.
Supply & Demand, kicks in as costs rise at peak times, but sometimes the customers hold the upper hand as they know our secret (EOM, EOQ & YE). Please do not tell them we know they know.
It is a game, it has its highs and lows, but like a game, we go back for more and always look forward to the New Year with hope, naturally making sure people know just how hard it will be.
We also invent new words for the ‘craic’, with the intention of making our lives easier if we just follow the programme….who is going to tell everyone else.
For fun, I said I would look up some of the words that make people mumble incoherently in an office environment.
Here are some of the words that you can try explaining to your family of friends but first ask them what the word means. (I used a small populous)
Linearity
