?? End of Semester Spotlight: Celebrating the Success of the PASS Program! ??
As the semester comes to a close, we are excited to reflect on the remarkable achievements of our Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) program for Semester 2, 2024. This initiative has been instrumental in supporting first-year undergraduate and postgraduate students through weekly study sessions led by peers who have excelled in their units.
?? At a Glance: In Semester 2, 2024, the impact of PASS was evident:
?? Mid-Semester Study Session: This semester, we ran a mid-semester study session specifically for students in Science PASS units, in collaboration with the Library. This event provided a relaxed environment for students to revise content and interact with their peers, all under the guidance of our dedicated PASS leaders. Students who had attended three or more sessions were invited to the stunning teaching spaces in the Matheson Library, where they enjoyed free coffees and worked through hundreds of practice questions. The session was a great success, with over 25 students participating and benefiting from this unique learning opportunity.

?? Our PASS Leaders: The success of the PASS program is largely due to the dedication and hard work of our PASS leaders. This semester, we are proud to have a team of 55 PASS leaders who have undergone extensive training and professional development. These leaders have honed their skills in group facilitation, lesson planning, time management, peer-to-peer mentoring, and engaging with academics.
?? Looking Ahead: As we look forward to Semester 1, 2025, we are already in the process of scheduling and recruiting for the next cohort of PASS leaders. We are excited to continue Monash’s rich tradition of peer-to-peer academic support, helping students achieve their best through collaborative learning.
