It has been a bumpy ride this year. As we approach the end of the year and winter sets in, it's natural to feel that push to use those last reserves of energy just to get through to the new year.

But for me, this time also marks a period for reflection. Ideally, we should have at least three breaks during the year to pause and reflect, but if you haven't, now's the perfect time.

This newsletter won't be about "marketing tricks" or business recommendations. Instead, I want to get a little more personal.

Efficiency, in a holistic sense, is about achieving maximum output with minimal input. It's about understanding how different parts of a system work together, like a well-coordinated surf session.

It's about understanding how everything connects – the ocean currents, the wind, the board under your feet.

Here's what holistic efficiency looks like:

• Systems Thinking: Seeing the interconnectedness of things. How does your well-being impact your decision-making in your business?
• Sustainability: Making choices that benefit you and your business in the long run, avoiding burnout.
• Collaboration: Just like catching a wave with friends, teamwork and shared knowledge lead to better outcomes.
• Continuous Improvement: Always be learning, adapting, and refining your approach.
• Employee Engagement (for those with teams): A stoked team is a productive team.
• Technology Integration: Using tools to streamline processes and free up your mental space for the bigger picture.
