End of the Fall Semester, Chinese New Year, and the Great Migration (to bed)!!!!
Last week marked the closing ceremonies for the Fall semester at Nanjing Senior High School in Jiangsu Province. Homeroom teachers from each grade took the stage to share students' achievements and provide insights into what lies ahead in the upcoming spring semester. The event served as a moment for self-reflection, applauding students for their efforts, and fostering a sense of gratitude within the school community. This gathering allowed the community to come together in person as the campus returned to normalcy post-COVID.
Parents were honored with an award during a particular ceremony moment. This caught me completely by surprise, as amidst the frequent discussions on discipline and grades, it's easy for teachers to overlook the fundamental truth that our roles exist because of parents. Their commitment, time, and efforts are integral in preparing their children for each academic day. Parents make significant sacrifices to provide their children with the best opportunities for future success.
As the ceremony concluded, with awards distributed and speeches delivered, the school community rose from their seats and united in singing the school song. This anthem encapsulated the deep affection students hold for Nanjing Senior High. As the Chinese New Year approaches, I extend my best wishes to the staff, students, and their families. May everyone enjoy a safe and healthy holiday celebration.
