End of an Era

The world has changed. I remember when we started that new thing called "Franchising" and how it took off and then the proliferation of all those casual dining spots where we use to gather. I spent a lot of time at TGI Fridays back then but times have changed and the casual restaurant has effectively died as the place to be. The new generation used smart phones and I Pads to communicate and not those casual meeting spots that once were the place to meet. Those in the industry have seen it coming for awhile now. Every food operation needs a menu that is under $5 to compete and most want to get their food quickly and leave, no time for real conversation and relaxing anymore. Sad that most conversation skills are done through text messaging now and even the language skills are reduced to using letters like LOL and LMAO as examples.

We are becoming so removed from having a functioning society where social graces are still practiced that I am afraid some of the wonder of who we are will be lost.

You are right on the spot sir. And I think it will get worse before it gets better. Sorry...
