End of a Chapter

??This week is quite an important and exciting week for me as I am graduating from Johan Cruyff Institute 's Master in Sports Management program in Amsterdam.?

Over the past 10 months (I guess it is equivalent to a basketball season with its beginning and end), I had a chance to experience everything I set out to do during this program. I expanded my network in the Netherlands and Europe. I also learned about the sports industry from a different perspective, even though I was always curious about the business side of it.?

As we approach graduation day, I am excited to share my insights and curiosity about the future of the sports industry. I will be discussing news about sports innovation, business, and sponsorships, all of which are shaping the future of our field.?

Alongside these industry insights, I am also eager to share updates on the businesses I am involved with. These updates, whether news, events, or other developments, are crucial to our collective progress in the sports industry. They include Guler Legacy, Alima Sports VC, Boly, Sports Climb, and other sports-related businesses that I am proud to be a part of.?

One of the biggest deals in sports broadcasting history happened last week: the NBA’s three-channel deal, which will be $7 billion per year. The brand-new deal was highly anticipated, and adding Amazon to the package is a big move for the NBA and a Tech Giant like Amazon.?

The newly signed deal also emphasizes the transition to digital streaming services. NBC will broadcast 50 of the 100 games it signed up for in Peacock, Amazon Prime will be the main outlet for Amazon in certain regular season games and play-in tournaments, and ESPN will start streaming when its DTC streaming service is launched.?

?? Getting ready for the 12th year of our Basketball Camps

We founded Guler Legacy in 2011 to create an environment for sharing our family's experience and legacy with young athletes. Starting off with summer camps, we expanded into other events like tournaments, corporate workshops, and impact-oriented organizations.?

Our summer camps this summer will be in two separate sessions, starting on July 1st and ending on July 6th. We are excited to meet with young athletes and share our experiences.?

Visited South Summit 2024

South Summit is a prominent innovation event in Madrid, and I was a guest speaker for one of the panels the SportBoost team hosted. It was insightful to get on the stage with experienced investors and speak about the innovation industry and how athletes can be more involved with this vertical.?

This was my first European event with the hat that I am wearing with Alima Sport VC , and building relationships with European stakeholders in our vertical is crucial for the growth of our company and our portfolio companies.?

I have been angel investing for 12 years, and every year, every investment has its own story. To intrigue the athletes and other individuals who might be interested in the investment opportunities in innovation, we should focus on sharing these experiences as much as possible.

Boly and our team have been working relentlessly for the past couple of years to create the best possible app to create a community within urban sports. With the exciting growth opportunities that 3x3 basketball has, we took a path to gamify the experience that basketball players have on the street courts.?

Boly kicked off its in-app league in May in partnership with Sneaks Up and shared its results with our league's first winner.?

During our MISM at the Johan Cruyff Institute, Anne Timmer , Jules Bruno , Luís Rodrigues , and I worked on Sports Climb , a community that connects individuals who want to create a career in the sports industry.
