In the end, it all works out!

They say, ‘In life, man proposes and God disposes’.

Have we really come to terms with the fact that all our plans, our strategies that we’ve made for our future, our future so prosperous, so bright, so happy, might not actually come true?

In the midst of Covid-19 outbreak, I wonder how many people had made what kind of plans for 2020?

‘I was supposed to finally get married’, ‘I was finally done saving enough for my trip to Europe’, ‘I finally had the offer letter in my hand’.

Do you see how often we’ve been hearing the word ‘finally’ in the past? Do we truly understand how deep the word actually means?

We use the term so often, that it’s almost like we’ve forgotten the what the word actually means. In this so-called ‘millennial lifestyle’, we’ve made our wishes so materialistic, we’ve made our happiness so short-lived, that it just takes one goddamn virus, and we’re done!

Suddenly, sentences like, ‘Oh thank God I’d some savings in my account!’, ‘Only God knows what kind of time is ahead for us’ come into picture.

Suddenly we start missing the littlest of things. Our ability to take a walk in the park, ability to meet up our loved ones, ability to hug who ever we wished to, ability to basically go our and meet people without the slightest of fear.

Suddenly we realise how superficial of us to tie our happiness to that new phone we were waiting for when there’s no friend to take pictures with, to that ‘wedding’ we were waiting for so long when we can’t even fly to meet our to-be husband abroad, to visit Europe when we can’t even have the luxury of visiting our parents in a different state’.

But deep down, we have a hope. Because that’s what our basic human instinct is, to find that ray of sunshine behind the dark cloud. A hope that one day, all this is going to be in our past. One day, we will hang out at our favourite café like before. We will watch our favourite movies in the theatre. We will be able to do everything our heart desires because we’ve all seen enough to realise that ‘Life always has a way of working itself out’.
