End of 2021 - 22 School year message

Congratulations Skutt Catholic Families!

Psalm 32:8 tells us: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” Referencing this verse, we can truly say 2021-2022 was a successful school year as a blessed SkyHawk family.??

We are grateful for our dedicated teachers, coaches and staff for their leadership as they lived our mission to form and educate young men and women to become Christian Leaders who empower others, promote justice and initiate change. Skutt Catholic teachers care for their students as their own. Education is so much more than what is found in books, or on a screen. Our teachers foster student growth and development, while inspiring with love and compassion.??

Our students came to school ready to learn, prepared to take on each day with enthusiasm, and exhibiting the spirit of the SkyHawk in all of their extracurricular activities. They should be commended for their ability to excel in every aspect of their school experience, in the classroom and beyond. While the multiple state championships in athletics and activities were widely publicized and celebrated, our students made us proud with their ability to rise to every occasion with passion and the pursuit of Making a Difference that is the hallmark of our school.

The faith formation of our students was evident in their friendships, their service to the community, and the spiritual growth and fellowship during community involvement days, retreats and Masses.? With God as their guide, they grew stronger in faith and community with each other. The Eucharist is beautiful and powerful. The ability to gather as a whole school community for all school Mass each week? and celebrate the Joy of Jesus together was an amazing gift.

As we prepare for the summer and next school year, the 30th year of Skutt Catholic as?a vibrant coeducational Catholic school in Omaha, I feel invigorated by our young people. They show us that we have a lot to look forward to, a lot to learn, and a lot to give, as we continue to move forward and provide students with the best high school experience in Nebraska. We will enter our 30th year as a community that will love and encourage our students to rise to new heights, experience new adventures, and build stronger relationships with each other and the Lord.??

I firmly believe that Skutt Catholic is the best place for families because we are a family. The spiritual guidance, educational excellence, opportunities through activities and athletics, and our strong community make our school special. We gain strength from each other, and together, we Make a Difference. The strength of our community will continue to provide the fire that inspires each of us to always do our best.?I am grateful to our SkyHawk family for your continued support and commitment to Skutt Catholic and Catholic education.??

Celebrate this final day of classes, celebrate our community, celebrate our future,?and remember “With God, all things are possible” (Matthew, 19:26)!
