Encourage the Heart

One of the leadership quality Is encouraging the heart. I am an extremely compassionate person and this shows when I work with other people. 

Many people can get frustrated working at part-time jobs, especially retail, because it can often be repetitive, mundane work and the addition of rude customers doesn’t help. 

However, being a respected leader but also approachable means people can talk to you about these issues. 

Actions that are taken by leaders to try and make these situations better because they talked to you about it can be extremely appreciated by your employees. 

I had this situation in the workplace and so I gave people different jobs often because they felt they were stagnant in what they were doing every shift. 

This lightened the mood and made them connect with customers better because they were happy knowing they were coming into work to do something a little different each day. 

These little acts of kindness can “give people the heart to keep going” 

Also, encouraging the heart means celebrating the little things and victories that are achieved each day.

This goes hand in hand with what I talked about with inspiring a shared vision. When we achieved our daily goals, I always offered a thank you and let them know I appreciated their efforts. 

Recognition is a motivator and everyone likes to hear that they did a good job.
