Why to worry on branding if you are a manager or leader? Answer is simple!!

Brand makes someone's choice shorter. Brain is lazy risk mitigator. Any brand makes process of choice simpler for our brains and we feel "Winning".

If you think closely, Managers are in "Negotiating", "Directing", "Influencing", "Motivating", "Mentoring", "Supporting", "Delivering" and "Creating Value".

Personal brand can help you to sail through them.

In a world of abundant options, brands serve as shortcuts for decision-making. The human brain prefers simplicity and risk mitigation. A strong personal brand simplifies choices for others and instills a sense of confidence in your abilities. Managers, by embracing personal branding, provide clarity amidst complexity.

Purpose is greater than you !! Whats your tagline? What is your purpose? Goal and purpose can be confusing. Goal is a target that has a timeline, purpose is continuous. "Becoming a CEO" can be a goal, but "Save the earth" is a purpose. Purpose is very strong driving factor. When you attach your purpose with a novel cause, it elevates your brand.

Crafting Your Narrative -Your story!! It is unfortunate that someone professionally opens up your history rarely and understands your path. Your story starts and ends in the interview process inside the resumes. It seems, we do "reset" when we join an organization. That's wrong. As a manager, your decision making power came from plenty of awesome journeys from the past. It's you who should tell your journey to give confidence to others. Stich your story for your brand making.

Don't let others define your brand!! We often see, many jump on conclusion so quickly. They tend to tag you as per their convenience. Don't let that happen. I get it. Correction and reiterating your brand message time to time is necessary. You are the CEO of your own brand, your talking(communication), appearance (dressing and body language), area of interest(purpose), Value(outcome of your work and presence) - all should align to same , remember that one line sentence- your tagline which people should remember.

The Long Game -Branding takes time & effort!! It is impossible to add an impact quickly. Spend time and effort to build your personal brand over time. Brand is a result of your point of view. When your work, aspiration, passion reflect your key focus on your purpose, it creates Brand power. Consistent practice is crucial to unearth your Brand.

Identify your right audience !! This is so true when creating personal brand. Its absolutely ok if everyone dont buy or understand your brand. Like product and services, personal brand has its own audience. Avoid spending time on wrong audience. If you are forming a brand to help start ups to grow, you should target start up mentors and communities.

Evolving Brand: embracing change Just as brands evolve with time, your personal brand can adapt and grow. Embrace changes in your professional journey, and allow your brand to evolve accordingly. Flexibility in refining your brand helps you stay relevant and connected.

By defining your story, purpose, and values, consistently nurturing your brand, and engaging with your chosen audience, you can create a lasting personal brand that not only defines your identity but also propels you towards becoming a trailblazing manager in your industry. Remember, your brand is your legacy – a testament to the unique value you bring to the table.
