Enabling MSMEs of Qatar

Enabling MSMEs of Qatar

9 out of 10 businesses worldwide belong to the micro, small, and medium enterprises segment, contributing more than 50% to the world’s GDP. Qatar is no different in this regard with MSMEs driving our country’s economy forward in more ways than one. As we continue working towards achieving the long-term goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, the role of MSMEs in upholding the 4 key pillars of human, social, economic, and environmental development is pivotal. Whether it is moving away from being a fuel-based economy or adapting to the new normal in a post-covid world or attaining self-sustainability by 2030, the MSME sector continues to add that much-needed diversity to Qatar’s business footprint.

Serving the MSME Sector

At GWC, we take great pride and place real importance on serving the logistics needs of micro, small and medium enterprises. Playing a major role as a catalyst in Qatar’s MSME Story is GWC’s Al Wukair Logistics Park, an expansive distribution and operational hub developed for the very purpose of supporting these businesses and their objectives. Alongside other infrastructure projects such as expressways, free zones, commerce zones, and trade markets, Al Wukair is a specialised platform from where MSMEs can successfully run their logistics and supply chain operations in a safe, seamless, and convenient manner. With over 15 years of experience, our problem-solving services team is focused on high-quality performance and responsiveness, something every client at Al Wukair – from single individuals to large multinationals – will experience for themselves as they enter their reserved spaces.

Infrastructure at Al Wukair

Spread across 1.5 million square metres, GWC Al Wukair Logistics Park is dedicated to light industry infrastructure required for the operational success of micro, small, and medium businesses. With 800+ light industrial workshops, 550+ dry warehousing units, 75+ showrooms & shops, 10+ air-conditioned & frozen warehouses, and 4 large open yards, the park has been designed to meet all types of warehousing and distribution requirements for sector-wide enterprises. As we continue to expand our capabilities and offerings, our customers have a variety of services to choose from as we offer logistical solutions through our showrooms, warehousing, and workshops.

Plug-and-Play Business Model

Offering a one-stop-shop solution for leasing a warehouse or workshop, MSMEs have the opportunity to benefit from Al Wukair’s plug-and-play model. As part of this, GWC provides tenants with start-to-end support for company formation, applying for necessary permits, implementing tech-enabled services, setting up distribution centres, and managing logistics operations. Al Wukair Logistics Park exhibits our expertise and capabilities to offer value solutions to our clients that can positively affect their bottom line while enabling them to focus on their core business.

Eliminating Capital Expenditure

Establishing a presence at Al Wukair Logistics Park is devoid of any capital expenditure in constructing any kind of owned infrastructure, which would otherwise amount to a steep cost for micro, small, and medium enterprises. A full-fledged logistics park with state-of-the-art warehousing already in place eliminates the need for investing in infrastructure, a win-win situation, especially for start-ups. Add to it GWC’s integrated global logistics network and several years of experience in driving local, regional, and international supply chains, which MSMEs can avail of as a service at relatively affordable operational costs.?

Qatar 2022??, Qatar National Vision 2030, and Beyond

Furthermore, Qatar is taking giant strides in the direction of becoming a leading trade & commerce hub in the Middle East region largely driven by the exponentially growing MSME sector, which remains committed to achieving the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030. By providing for micro, small and medium enterprises, GWC is growing to new heights as it incorporates and acknowledges businesses that entered the market. The range of solutions delivered by GWC continue to bolster our core contribution to the growth and diversification of Qatar’s economy and further define our role in contributing to the road of a self-sustaining economy. From the earliest days of LVQ, and onwards through Bu Sulba and Bu Fesseela, and now with our Al Wukair Logistics Park, we offer micro, small and medium enterprises – largely recognized as the drivers of economic diversity – the tools they need to succeed and grow along with the nation’s economy as a whole.
