MaX lighthouse codes illuminate the materials simulation community across the world

The MaX lighthouse codes (Quantum EESPRESSO, SIESTA, YAMBO, FLEUR, and BigDFT) implement state-of-the-art quantum mechanical materials simulations, based on Density Functional Theory and beyond.?Today, our codes are adopted by a large number of end users across the world (see maps above), also thanks to our efforts in making the codes available and efficient on different architectures including heterogeneous architectures based on GPUs. MaX codes are largely modular and utilize modern programming paradigms, leveraging highly tuned libraries and computational kernels. Discover more by visiting the MaX lighthouse software environments.

“Materials and molecular modelling with Quantum ESPRESSO”

Online school organized by MaX, in collaboration with: NCC Czechia, NCC Austria, NCC Slovenia, NCC Slovakia, NCC Poland and NCC Hungary. Held between 19-21 June 2024, the online school focused on the MaX lighthouse code QUANTUM ESPRESSO.? The school gathered 46 attendees with a background in condensed matter physics and chemistry. More information and the complete programme: Info & Agenda. Recordings and course material available at: EuroCC Czechia school page.

? Upcoming Event | 22-27 September, 2024 | Prague, Czech Republic

MaX will sponsor the 11th International Conference on Multiscale Materials Modeling (MMM-11)

The International Conference on Multiscale Materials Modeling (MMM) focuses on computational materials science, embracing existing and emerging methods from interdisciplinary fields inherent to complex material systems. Hosted by the Institute of Physics of Materials of the Czech Academy of Sciences, the 2024 Conference will feature MaX among its sponsors together with a talk by MaX partner Pablo Ordejon (ICN2) on “QM/MM simulations of the electrochemical interface”. Learn more about the keynote lectures and the contributed talks in the conference programme.

? Upcoming Event | 24-25 October, 2024 | Bremen, Germany

MaX partners meet in Bremen

To be held in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bremen, the event will gather MaX partners to discuss WP advancements and several critical topics such as benchmarking, deployment, and profiling of the MaX flagship codes.?Further information and registration form are available on the MaX website at the dedicated event page (registration deadline: Friday, September 6, 2024). We look forward to meeting you in Bremen!
