Enabling Collective Action with Digital Public Infrastructure | DOT - July'23 Edition

Dear Friends,

I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. Through DOT, we bring forth the work of the people, the partners, and the ecosystems we have teamed up with to implement citizen-centered Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) in areas like public health, good governance, sanitation, public finance, etc.

This year marks eGov's 20th anniversary, a journey that started in 2003 with a people centric approach. At the heart of this journey lies the story of Adilakshmi illustrating the role of placing citizen experience first in service delivery. Another key aspect of our work is to enhance the capacities of government entities, commercial partners, and social organisations ensuring the sustainability of programs which leverage DIGIT. Our initiatives include comprehensive trainings, immersive boot camps, accessible documents on DIGIT.org and informative videos.

As an example of how DIGIT is being used by multiple actors in the ecosystem, one of our partners from Piramal Foundation writes about how DIGIT is being leveraged to create responsive government systems. Together, we aim to reimagine interventions?focused on creating inclusive, and resilient societies.

DIGIT experience centre at the G20 Global DPI Summit

eGov engaged with delegates from G20 nations and other countries from Africa and Asia, to demonstrate the endless possibilities of DIGIT in transforming governance and citizen service delivery. The event highlighted 12 initiatives from the Digital India Flagship Programme, displaying exemplary DPI implementation and exhibiting DIGIT alongside Aadhar, UPI and Diksha.?Read More.

Enhancing technical capacities of ecosystem at national scale

UPYOG as we know is transforming municipal service delivery in India. To further this effort, the eGov team partnered with team UPYOG, powered by DIGIT, in strengthening the network's capacity in building foundational systems. Tackling Unemployment and Streamlining Payments

The MUKTA scheme in Odisha, India targets the economic empowerment of urban informal workers. To enable smooth access to wage opportunities, a digital solution called MUKTASoft has been developed on DIGIT. MUKTASoft aims to ensure efficient implementation of the scheme by incorporating smart payment principles and tracking project lifecycle activities. Read more.

Adilakshmi makes us?believe

This is the story of how keeping citizen experience at the core of service delivery empowers people. Adilakshmi stopped the stormwater drain in her community from overflowing by proactively raising the issue with the authorities with the help of the Pura Seva app. The app that transformed lives of citizens of a state in India, wasn’t just a tool to raise grievances for people like Adilakshmi. Realising the potential for the adoption of digital technologies and digital platforms, eGov & Piramal Foundation entered into a partnership paving the way for a more inclusive and prosperous Bharat through the power of DIGIT. Piramal Foundation aims to empower communities and transform public services in India, focusing on three dimensions: public systems transformation, community participation, and youth and women empowerment. Presenting DIGIT HCM at the AMP Conference

eGov presented DIGIT HCM to leaders from 22 African countries, global funding organisations, and technology partners?at the Alliance for Malaria Prevention Annual Partners meeting in Nairobi. AMP brings together expertise from the global anti-malaria community dedicated to the expansion and use of malaria nets by populations vulnerable to the disease.?

Exploring possibilities with DIGIT HCM in Liberia

In Liberia, eGov team engaged with the Health Ministry officials and other key stakeholders to grasp the role of digital platforms in tackling existing challenges. The National Malaria Control Program have showcased digital tools' transformative power in healthcare delivery. The visit aimed to pave the way for collaborative efforts in meeting Liberia’s unique requirements.?

DIVOC wins Gold at the 'Future of Design' Awards

DIVOC won "Gold" in the Technology category at BW Businessworld Future of Design Awards 2023. DIVOC applies design thinking for global COVID-19 vaccination programs, issuing tamper-proof QR code-based certificates in low-to-no internet areas. It is a Digital Public Goods Alliance listed public good and Digital Square at PATH-approved Global Goods Software.
