EN 14675:2015 EVALUATION OF VIRUCIDAL ACTIVITY

Quantitative suspension test for the evaluation of virucidal activity of chemical disinfectants and antiseptics used in the veterinary area

This test considers the practical conditions of application of the product, including contact time, temperature, test organisms and interfering substances, i.e., conditions that may influence its action in practical situations.

This standard EN14675 tests virucidal activity efficacy outlines the evaluation of product that are used in the veterinary area.

Our Proficiency Testing Programs

Interlaboratory comparisons are widely used for a number of purposes and their use is increasing internationally:

  1. to evaluate the performance of laboratories in carrying out specific tests or measurements and to monitor the ongoing performance of laboratories.
  2. identify problems in laboratories and initiate actions for improvement.
  3. establish the effectiveness and comparability of test or measurement methods.
  4. provide additional confidence to customers of the laboratories.
  5. identify differences between laboratories.
  6. instruct analysts participating laboratories because of the results of these comparisons.
  7. validate reported uncertainty estimates.
  8. evaluating the performance characteristics of a method – often described as collaborative trials.
  9. assigning values to reference materials and assessing their suitability for use in specific test or measurement procedures.
  10. support statements of equivalence of measurements by international bodies “key comparisons” or “ring trials”.

PARTICIPATION PERFORMANCE IN THE VIRUCIDAL ACTIVITY

The objective of proficiency testing is to perform an evaluation of laboratory performance by comparing results. For the analysis of the data, assumptions were considered to draw consistent conclusions from the results.

The statistical treatment was performed according to ISO 13528:2015. “Statistical methods for use in proficiency testing by interlaboratory comparisons“.

The method for estimating the assigned value was defined and approved by the specialized commission.

Just before the statistical treatment, an exploratory data analysis was performed according to the following criteria:

Virucidal activity analysis

  1. Traceability of the provided result (checking of the sample identification number).
  2. Integrity (through scheduled Audit Trail logging).
  3. Visual (expression of the result, data input error).
  4. Technical (according to EN 14675 virucidal activity in veterinary area (Test method and requirements, phase 2/step 1).
  5. Statistical analysis (hypothesis testing, observed distributions, outliers’ detection).

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 assurance of the validity of results

One of the most important requirements of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for the activity accreditation it must ensure the validity of its results.

The resulting data should be recorded in such a way that trends are detectable and where possible, statistical techniques should be applied to review the results. This service is offered by SHAPYPRO for our clients.

This monitoring should be planned and reviewed and include, where appropriate.
