A high-yielding mixed-use property at the heart of Brighton’s historic Lanes went under the auctioneer’s gavel this week at more than ￡1million. (wed, nov 3)
It was among 105 lots in the latest auction held by one of the top five property auctioneers in the UK, Clive Emson Land and Property Auctioneers, which ended on Wednesday, 3 November.
End-terrace period property 2 Ship Street, adjacent to the seafront, was eventually sold for ￡1.055 million after competitive bidding.
It comprises a restaurant premises on the ground and lower ground floors and two self-contained flats above, arranged as holiday lets.

“We considered that the property was ideal for any business looking to expand into a large commercial development with 3,000 sq ft (278.71 sq m) of fully furnished offices/warehousing.
“We also felt there was an opportunity for a complete re-development for commercial, sale or rent, office/storage units or residential flats, subject to all necessary consents being obtainable.”
