I glanced down at the red light on my dashboard and knew the worst had happened

The gas tank was almost empty. The needle couldn’t go any further down. We were running on fumes ?

The great thing was the gas station was around the corner

The kicker was that didn’t matter.?

Because I was almost certain I didn’t have enough money to pay for it

And my wife and kids were with me

And we were in a foreign country with a foreign language so I couldn’t even ask for help

And I felt ashamed and guilty.?

I literally pulled over to the side of the road and searched for money on the ground in the hope I could get some gas…

BUT the miracle didn’t happen (well not in the way I wanted it to right then)

I didn’t find any money.?

I put the minimum ($5) in and hoped I could pay for it. First two cards declined. I contemplated doing a runner…

Fortunately the 3rd card went through. My heart was racing….

But I pulled it together and walked calmly back to the car like everything was okay.?

As I sat in the car contemplating what had just happened I had an aha moment

I realized I’d been playing small and this was the consequence

And I resolved to never be back here again - for obvious reasons.?

Something clicked inside of me and in the next 7 days I made $30k. I spoke my truth, I shared my voice. I challenged conventional wisdom

And I broke all the so called rules. I trusted my instinct and did it my way.?

The rest is history. Kind of….
