During a recent train journey, I came across a simple yet profound moment that left me inspired.
An elderly couple was seated in my compartment, ready to sleep for the night. They had already had their meal, and with them was an empty Tupperware water bottle. The old man seemed alert and conscious about the empty bottle.
Soon, a water seller passed by. The man quickly stopped him, purchased a cold water bottle for Rs. 20, and what he did next caught my attention.
He wasn’t thirsty at that moment, but he anticipated he might need water in the middle of the night. So, he opened the newly bought bottle, poured the cold water into his Tupperware bottle, discarded the disposable one in the dustbin, and placed his now-filled Tupperware bottle by his side.
At first, it seemed like a small, practical action. But then it struck me: this was future planning at its simplest yet most insightful level.
This small moment carried a big life lesson.
A disposable bottle serves its purpose once and is discarded.
A Tupperware bottle, though bought empty, is reusable, durable, and continues to serve long-term needs.
So, if you ever feel like an "empty bottle," making noise and wondering about your worth—don’t worry. Focus on being a “Tupperware bottle.”
Build value in yourself.
Be reliable, durable, and adaptable.
Ensure that even during moments of emptiness, you remain capable of holding something meaningful in the future.
Remember, it’s not about where you start; it’s about how you position yourself to be of value over time.
Moral: Though you may feel empty at times, strive to be worthy—because true worth lies in how you continue to contribute, endure, and impact others.
