Nothing has held people back in life more than fear.?
Yet, it doesn’t even exist.
For the fear of reproach, ridicule and repercussion, many people refuse to reveal themselves to the world, accept the calling upon their life and make any attempt to fulfill their purpose.
It is why the late Dr. Myles Munroe once said:
“The richest places on earth are not the bank vaults in Switzerland, oil wells in Saudi Arabia, gold mines in South Africa or diamond mines in Botswana, but in the cemeteries, because there lies books that were never written, songs that were never sung, inventions that were never made.”
What are the dreams in your heart today that you desire the courage to achieve?
What are the hindrances in your path to greatness that you need to boldly confront?
What are your longstanding goals and objectives that you need the confidence to pursue?
At our?Weekly Empowerment Sunday, we have been discussing the concept of fear from both the physical and spiritual standpoints and then be empowered with practical tips, tools and techniques to shatter your barriers, move your mountains, dismantle your fears and rise above yourself.
In the Faith vs. Fear Series, we have been discussing the following:
THE MEANING OF FEAR
Here is a passage from the chapter on fear in my book,?Welcome to Greatness:
“Fear is a distressing emotion that is aroused by impending danger, evil or pain, whether the threat is real or imagined. It is the condition of uncomfortable uncertainty, a feeling that causes us to restrain ourselves from an action that stands to benefit us due to perceived failure or possible embarrassment.”
?When we are afraid, our ability to act is inhibited regardless of whatever may be at stake.
Fear is the reason why many people no longer aim for the best, but rather aim just to avoid the worst.
Fear is the reason why many people are yet to begin their journey en route to fulfillment.
Fear is the reason why many people are living lives of emptiness in a world of plentiful.
This is the day for you to conquer your fear.
It is the day to confront them with everything you’ve got and dismantle the monument you have built over the years with your imagination.?

CRITICAL QUESTIONS TO ASSESS THE DEPTH OF YOUR FEAR
For a short TV interview about my book,?Welcome to Greatness, talking about the Chapter on Fear, click?here.
To successfully arrive at the core of your existence, you must rise above your fears.
You must pay close attention to things you have simply imagined, and now deterring your progress in life.
Years ago, the mere thought of doing what I am doing right now was scary for me.
But what was scarier was the thought of maintaining the status quo, of not changing, of not growing and never fulfilling the purpose God created me for.
With that said, what is fear?
It is simply the perception of an unfavourable outcome that is hindering the manifestation of favourable outcomes. Many people may not know this, but fear is a spirit.
You cannot see it but yet can have a stronghold on you.
You cannot touch it, but yet it is so palpable.
It may be oblivious to others but quite obvious in your heart.
In the words of Apostle Paul, “For God gave us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.”
In other words, fear is a spirit that creeps into our mind to hold us back from the pursuit and fulfillment of our purpose in life, our divine assignment.
If anything, fear is merely proof of how powerful the mind is; that someone can feel so threatened by something he or she simply imagined, whether possible or not.
