Are you too comfortable? Every time I venture out of my comfort zone, there comes a point where the initial unease fades, replaced by a sense of familiarity. This moment signals it’s time to seek a new challenge—something that stretches me to learn more and grow. At this stage in my business journey, the challenge is managing the systems and processes of our nationwide community. I never imagined taking on so many operational aspects, yet as I stretch to learn and adapt, I gain a deeper understanding of our network and how we uplift each other.

Diversity means more than just variety in backgrounds; it encompasses a range of skills, goals, and passions. A diverse network pushes us to explore different ways of thinking and doing, amplifying our growth in ways we could never achieve alone.

Diverse networks provide more than just camaraderie; they open doors to perspectives that can completely reframe our ideas. Meeting people from varied industries, backgrounds, and life experiences introduces fresh insights and approaches to our work and personal lives. Each conversation becomes a stepping stone to rethinking old patterns and exploring innovative solutions.

Stepping into new communities often brings a sense of vulnerability, but it also allows us to practice authenticity. When we allow ourselves to be seen in these spaces, embracing both strengths and insecurities, we find acceptance and encouragement to bring our true selves forward. I've been challenged with this recently. Diverse groups of people hold diverse opinions and that can sometimes push my beliefs. I've found that I really need to stop my inner critic voice that wants to judge (me and the others) so that I can be present and hear - not just the opinions of those around me - but the reasons BEHIND those beliefs. It's been a great, if difficult, exercise - and, to be honest, it's very humbling. I have found SO much empowerment in being a part of the diverse WESOS community!
