In my experience, overwhelm shows up when doing something new and unfamiliar. When presented with a new challenge, it is easy to get caught up in the unknown of the path forward.?
As leaders, we are tasked with helping individuals see a way forward with calm resilience (instead of chaotic foresight) so that they can succeed. When charging into the unknown, it is common for teams to be faced with self-doubt, uncertainty, and overwhelm. Knowing my own tools and what helps me get out of the overwhelm, allows my team to take note and do the same.?
Embrace the Calm.?
Getting through a crisis safely requires a calm, clear, and confident approach to challenging situations. A leader that empowers their team and builds trust, can overcome challenges with greater ease and certainty. Succumbing to panic or uncertainty only further creates a sense of chaos. Resilient leaders are able to adapt, focus, delegate, and find solutions, even in the most chaotic times.?
And in doing that, they empower their teams to do the same.??

As a leader, we can empower our teams to discover what they are great at AND teach them to be honest in what they need help with. There is power in assessing a situation and realizing you need help. You can teach your team to accomplish what they can, and ask for help with what they can’t.?
I only succeed when the people beside me succeed. Whether in leadership or when I am speaking, it is my mission to help people find their confidence to be resilient and achieve great things.?
